Brotherhood. Conversation. Connection.

Mahogany Men’s Table brings Black men 40+ together for good conversation, new connections, shared experiences and community. Whether you’re single, married, partnered or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you here.

The Mahogany Men’s Table was founded by four Black men over the age of 40 who understand firsthand the unique experiences, responsibilities, and challenges that Black men face throughout life’s journey. From balancing careers and family to prioritizing mental wellness, personal growth, and meaningful relationships, they recognized the need for a space where Black men could show up as their authentic selves.

“I co-founded Mahogany Men’s Table because too many of us have been carrying the weight of isolation alone. Research published in Ethnicity & Disease in 2025 found that nearly one in four of the 1,200 Black men surveyed reported feeling isolated from others. That’s not a small number. That’s a crisis hiding in plain sight. We built this space so no Black man has to be part of that statistic in silence.”– Darryl Byers

“When I looked at the data, it confirmed what I already felt in my spirit. A recent study found that among Black men ages 18 to 29, 35% reported feeling lonely always or often. That’s a higher rate than their white peers at 33%. If it’s already showing up that young, imagine what it looks like by 40, 50, 60. The Mahogany Men’s Table is about breaking that cycle before it hardens into isolation.”– Kevin Drew

“I’ve watched too many men my age go quiet. They stopped calling, stopped showing up, and stopped letting anyone in. The research backs up what I’ve seen: Black men were found to have a notably higher rate of cognitive impairment than white men in the same study, at more than double the prevalence. Loneliness plays a real role in that decline. Staying connected isn’t optional for us. It’s protective. That’s why I co-founded the Mahogany Men’s Table.” – Glynn Lloyd

“By the time we get older, isolation gets worse. One long-term study tracking older Americans over multiple generations found that Black men in the Silent Generation started out with higher social isolation than every other group measured. That’s decades of data telling us the same thing: we age alone more than anyone else. I refuse to let that be the story for the next generation of Black men. That’s one reason the Mahogany Men’s Table exists.” – Darius Walker
