After failed attempts with online dating, I was feeling hopeless with a lack of desire to even go out. All the swiping and bad dates with dishonest men I really was at a lost and dismayed. I love music and dancing, and have always been the one to plan the parties or get them started! So when I saw the Mahogany Mates logo and tag line I was immediately intrigued and even giggled a little! It was exactly what I needed to see . . . a glimpse of hope! MM had me at “Find somebody to go with.” I love the concept of the in-person focus and was happy to join as a Mingler. The central idea of wearing Mahogany Mates gear as an icebreaker to connect with other 50+ black singles is smart. It takes away the “I wonder ifs.” I am taking things slow but have positive anticipation again, which is “enough courage to love one more time and always one more time” (Maya Angelou quote).
